Old Town Friends Fellowship
Suzanna Roettger, Clerk
We are a non-traditional religious fellowship. The Holy Spirit is at the center of our faith. We embrace diversity. We are a convergence of Liberal and Conservative (those who conserve an older way) Quakers, Christians from the Protestant Holiness tradition and the Emergent Church movement. We are led to seek unity with God’s will through the Light and Love of Christ, not only among each other, but also with the wider Religious Society of Friends. In this common purpose, the variety of our experiences and perspectives helps us to know and cherish the promise of that Love, which is available to all people. We hope to deepen and share this experience by providing a witness, spiritual hospitality, and community outreach to urban Baltimore.
You won't find fancy choirs, rock bands, or Power Point presentations. Our worship is relaxed, experimental, healing, and has minimal programming. We are not led by a pastoral minister, but rather have a different form of worship than you'll find in most other churches; one that is based in silence, in which we try to be still so that we can hear God.
If you're looking for a community that comes from a long and wise tradition but is modern, progressive and deeply spiritual, we invite you to visit us.
Come as you are.
Share your gifts.
Stay as you are led.

If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. " (James 2:16-18 New International Version)
